چکیده
Electrical Resistivity Methods involving Schlumberger Vertical Sounding (VES) and Wenner Profiling (EP) were carried out to map the Geological features of earth subsurface in Zainawa Area Kano State, Nigeria. Five profiles established; consist six (6) VES points at each profile. GEOPULSE resistivity meter (SAS 300) was used for data acquisition. The field obtained have been analyzed using computer software (IPI2win) which gives an automatic interpretation apparent resistivity. A maximum three geoelectric layers delineated from master curves. section beneath study area composed top soil (clayey-sandy sandy-lateritic), weathered layer, partly (fractured basement) fresh basement. value topsoil layer varies 20 Ωm 600 with thickness ranging 0.5 7.2 m. basement has values 15 593 between 2.75 33.04 fractured 201 835 11 20.4 (bedrock) 1161 3115 infinite depth. depth produced give a good picture topography within area. ranges m around 01 85 25 also reveals linear structures (VES 05, 21, 22 23) trends NE-SW direction. متن کاملAn Investigation on Application of the Electrical Resistivity Tomography Method to Concrete Structures
Reinforced concrete used for bridge decks and pillars, highways and other transportation facilities experience loss of integrity over time caused by poor initial quality, action of de-icing salts, temperature changes, fatigue and, above all, delamination caused by corrosion of reinforcement bars (rebars for brevity). Electrical resistivity is sensitive to those losses of integrity. Using 3D num...

BACKGROUND The number of textile industries in Nigeria with large work force is on the rise. There is thus the need to assess medical challenges of its workers, one of which is respiratory ailments. Although much has been written about the subject globally, only few studies have been done in Nigeria. This study aims to address this gap. OBJECTIVE A cross-sectional study was undertaken to dete...

BACKGROUND Hysteroscopic adhesiolysis is shown to significantly improve the outcome of intrauterine adhesions (IUA). The Minimally Invasive Surgical Unit (MISU) of our Department recently acquired a hysteroscope which is being used for hysteroscopic adhesiolysis among others. MATERIALS AND METHODS There were 57 patients diagnosed to have IUA of which 54 case notes were available for analysis,...
متن کاملElectrical Resistivity Investigation of Gas Hydrate Distribution in
Electrical methods offer a potential geophysical approach to determining the sub-bottom distribution of gas hydrate in the deep marine environment. Gas hydrate is essentially nonconductive. Hence, sediments with pore spaces partially filled with hydrate or containing veins filled with hydrate are more resistive than surrounding sediments with pore spaces filled with seawater. To date, attempts ...
